Frequently Asked Questions
Planning an AV Project? Whether you have questions about cost, design, installation, integration, or ongoing support, our FAQ page covers the topics clients ask about most.
SYSTEM DESIGN AND EASE OF USE
How easy will my AV system be to use?
Making every system as user-friendly as possible is one of our primary goals. Each Crescent Multimedia Solutions system is custom designed around the client’s needs, requests, and intended use.
Our team creates intuitive control interfaces that give users easy access to the functions they need without adding unnecessary complexity.
The type and complexity of the system can influence how it operates, but ease of use is considered throughout the design, programming, installation, and training process. Simply put, if a system is difficult to use, people are less likely to use it.
Can CMS make the system very user-friendly?
Yes. Our goal is to make every solution as easy and intuitive to operate as possible. During the planning process, we work to understand who will use the system, how they will use it, and which functions need to be readily available. This allows us to create a user experience that supports the client’s everyday needs without overwhelming users with unnecessary controls.
Can my AV system be expanded in the future?
In many cases, additional features, equipment, and capabilities can be added as your needs evolve. The ease of future expansion depends on the type of system originally selected and how it is designed.
If you expect your technology needs to grow, let your Account Manager know during the initial planning process. Understanding your future goals allows our design team to recommend a solution that can more easily accommodate additional functions, rooms, devices, or capabilities later.
QUOTES AND PROJECT TIMELINES
How long does it take to receive a quote?
Our goal is to provide most proposals within five to ten business days following the initial meeting and receipt of the information needed to develop the solution.
The exact turnaround time depends on the size and complexity of the project. Larger or more involved systems may require additional time for site evaluation, design, engineering, equipment selection, and pricing. Your Account Manager will keep you informed if additional information or design time is required.
How soon can CMS install my system?
Our goal is to install most projects within approximately 30 days of receiving a purchase order. However, the final schedule can vary depending on equipment availability, manufacturer lead times, holidays, tariffs, project size, site readiness, and coordination with other contractors.
Larger or more complex projects may require several months to coordinate and complete. Your Account Manager will provide a clearer projected timeline once the system design, equipment requirements, and project schedule have been confirmed.
BUDGET AND PRICING
Can CMS design a system that fits my budget?
Yes. We encourage clients to discuss their budget expectations with their Account Manager during the initial project conversations. Having this information early allows our design and estimating team to recommend a solution that aligns with your priorities, performance requirements, and available budget.
Because every audiovisual system is custom designed, knowing the budget from the beginning can help our team determine where to invest, which features are most important, and which options provide the best overall value.
Are lower-cost options available?
In many cases, we can recommend alternative equipment, features, or system designs at different price points. Our goal is to design the appropriate solution the first time based on the client’s needs, expectations, and budget.
If the preferred system falls outside the desired price range, our team can review the design and develop an alternative approach. This may include selecting different equipment, adjusting certain features, modifying the system scope, or planning the project in phases while preserving the client’s most important functionality.
Is the price negotiable?
CMS strives to provide competitive and accurate pricing from the beginning. Every proposal is developed around the client’s specific needs, performance expectations, site conditions, and project requirements.
If the proposed system exceeds your anticipated budget, your Account Manager can work with you to review the design, discuss priorities, and explore appropriate alternatives.
Rather than simply reducing the price and compromising performance, our goal is to identify practical adjustments that preserve the system's core functionality and long-term value.
